Delhi Gynaecologist Forum Pioneer in Academic activities of doctors; Training and enhancing skills of gynaecologists and in Community Health
Delhi Gynaecologist Forum created on 5.5.2001 is a body of 375 gynaecologists, who are conscious of quality service and social responsibility. With its 9 years old history of community service and academic activities, it is one of the best professional bodies in the capital. Its academic activities are always grand success. Movement against very high Maternal Mortality, (No Home Delivery) against Rampant Anaemia & meticulous examination of Rape Victim in India, received our first priority. Forum has to its credit many other community health and development projects (like movement on adolescent health, movements against female foeticide, creating public awareness about osteoporosis, yearly checkup and cancer detection camps at multiple sites, and “Help yourself movement and now cervical prevention vaccine.
Motivating MOHFW (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare) for “No Delivery at Home” and Modifying Janani Suraksha Yojana under National Rural Health Mission (2005-2012) is our Biggest Achievement.
Second biggest achievement has been our big big battle won for uniform, complete and meticulous examination of Rape Victim. Our experts had been motivator and helped Indian Medical Association, MOWCD and UNICEF to develop MANUAL, KIT AND A FILM for training of doctors across the country. Honorable High Court of Delhi passed the order in April 2009 to ensure to complete and sincere medical examination in all public hospitals in Delhi to give full justice to an innocent Rape/ Sexually abused victim, using our manual, kit and film..
Our third achievement had been Movement Against Anaemia (MAA), which is well received all over country and many states (Delhi, M.P. Gujrat, Karnataka etc.) for taking it on woarfooting.
Our fight against female foeticide is on …..we believe together every one achieves more!!.... we are hopeful that by 2020 India should be free of female foeticide. We have already made 150 Ambassadors to Join hands to remove this menace in NCR.
These projects envisage the vision of health for all women and girl children; by public private partnership, pooling and sharing resources, creating a common platform for all stakeholders and family based interventions with community involvement. Our work has been appreciated by local community, press and government.
Our support system and strength lie in cooperation among gynaecologists, resource sharing with other societies of gynaecologists and people’s participation……. |
